Excuse Me!....Bonjour...Day 2

Three Observations from the day. 

• I was rudely told "excuse me" four times today as I was walking, and I was not even walking slowly mind you! So people here just need to calm down!
• There are a lot of french people here in New York...tourists.
• California is owning New York (and the entire East Coast I will venture) on its diversity and progressiveness.  Though there are a diverse group of maybe two or three ethnic groups, California has a diversity of so many more! I miss "Cali" as I hear two New Yorkers refer to it today (really? Is that even allowed if you aren't Californian?!)

Today I woke up before 8 Cali time and 10 NYC time. I was super tired.  Went to Rockafeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, glanced at NYC Public Library, walked through Bryant Park, ate a chicken gyro from a cart (soooo good, except for the lack of hot sauce) went to Union Square, a seven story macys, and ended up at a Nordstrom Rack.  Honestly, after hearing everything about New York, I expected better sales. Oh well.  

Then went bar hopping (is it still considered hopping if its only from one bar to another?), and that was really fun. Second bar had scrabble, shuffle board, chess, ping pong and pool. And for those of you who  really truly know me, I finally fulfilled a dream of playing scrabble while a little bit tipsy. I was very happy and it was possible! (HA! take that all you naysayers...!) I didn't win but that's not the point, stop judging me.  Then ate at a small diner from 11:30-12 ish and that was healthy (*cough cough*) but fun!  I was sadly (and glaringly) the only 'single' of the group but my pride will recover soon.  Took a taxi back to East Harlem.  On the way, passed what was formerly known as Welfare Island (yes, welfare, as in for the poor). Well, I just took a small nap, i'm tired, sleep time.
