Welcome to the Wonderful Mind of Lupe

Hello! T-minus 52.5 hours until the four month move to Washington D.C.!

My name is Lupe and I'm an avid reader, an incoming senior in college and about to embark on one of the most exciting times of my life! I've only ever been to deep space, Lothlorien, and Remalna* (to name a scant few places) via books; Mexico for a grand total of three weeks and only but tested the delights of D.C. for a week once in high school.

That said, I started this blog for several reasons: the first because I purchased a new computer and felt I should be using it wisely, the second because I love writing (especially since it's all about me! I joke...) third, due to my laziness, writing a blog will be the most time efficient way for my family and friends to read about my (mis)adventures and a way for me to be the heroine of my very own epic tale!

My musings are but a window to the reality of my life, but enough, let us embark!

Amidst the excitement of moving to my future home for the semester, I cannot help but feel immense trepidation.  The reality is slowly sinking in: I'm leaving (think Gladys Knight and the Pips Midnight Train to Georgia and substitute Georgia with Washington D.C.) and I won't be seeing my family and friends for four months.  That may not be a very great amount of time, but hey! It's something new and my nerves are shaken considering I feel utterly unprepared for the move mentally, have yet to turn in my passport papers (I get to visit Egypt and Jordan during this four month trip!) and hmm...that thing called packing...yeah...have not finished it yet. I feel like this:

I want that bumper sticker that says: "I'd Rather Be Reading". I'd wear it on my forehead. There is nothing that calms my nerves better than reading and there are so many I have waiting for me to gobble up...but I just can't open them at the moment! This summer I have only read 4 books (sigh...last summer I read 22.5 before going back to school) and re-reading some of the Anne of Green Gables books hardly counts, I do that every summer. Anywho, reading wouldn't help me pack, finish my resume, shop for professional clothes, etc., that I need to get done. At the moment, neither will writing on here... I am watching a movie with the little bros. and spending time with them is a wee bit more important.
*Places from a few of my favorite books: Ender's Game (or Grimspace), Lord of The Rings, and Crown Duel. check 'em out!
